Kalpana Iyer is a long time Charlotte resident and works as a Physical Therapist at Carolinas Medical Center at Mercy. She holds a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma and University of Mumbai.

She has had a great passion for music from an early age and started taking music lessons while in high school and participated in many music competitions and events in Mumbai. She won first place in the Yash Chopra All Bombay Interschool music competition while in high school and participated in various singing events while in college. Kalpana has continued her support for music in Charlotte through active engagement as a competitor, participant in community music events, and assisting with judging the Charlotte Indian Idol competition for the Festival of India. She welcomes the opportunity to be part of the Nuv Yug team. Kalpana has been on the panel since 2017.

Prasad Kommaraju has lived in the Raleigh area for the past 19 years. He has won many musical awards and takes active part in such shows in TV channels and local organizations. He also encourages young generation to pursue their passion and love of Indian music.

He is a software engineer at Duke University. After being on the Raleigh panel since Nuv Yug IDOL's inception in 2016, he joins the Charlotte panel in 2018.

Amrita Biswas was born in Bilaspur M.P (now in Chhattisgarh) Amrita’s vocal music training started at an early age from her aunt Smt. Maya De. She earned her Visharad Degree from university of Khairagarh M.P at the age of 15. Amrita has had the good fortune to study music under the tutelage of some of the greatest musicians in her field. She is a student of renowned classical vocalist Dr.Smt. Swapna Chakraborty. Amrita has performed across India and the United States and won several competitions and has received numerous prestigious awards. Amrita runs a music school in Charlotte. Her vision is to make learning Hindustani classical styles of Indian music easy, accessible, and exciting to people.

Vani Satish was introduced to Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam at a young age of 5. Starting from school to college and now at major entertainment events in the UK & US, Vani has been a stand out singer and an excellent live performer with her uniquely gifted vocal.

Whether it is Melody, Folk or Rock, her vocal stands out for her versatility in her singing. One of the best entertainer in live shows within USA including several charity shows. She can sing in many languages. Her recent single “Na Kanda Kanasu” a romantic melody song was released on “Times Music”this year. She is also a playback singer in Kannada film industry and has recently sung with Jai Ho fame Vijay Prakash. She is working on her own compositions, among them Guru Vandane is one of her new composition to be released soon.

Saranya Jayadev hails from a musical family in Kerala, India. She has been trained in Carnatic music since the age of 9. Her first Guru was her uncle, a renowned Kathakali musician & Percussion Artiste Hari Killimangalam. After learning basics from him, she was trained by other eminent Gurus in Kerala. After moving to U.S., she started learning Hindustani Music under Amrita  Biswas and also continued Carnatic training. She is very passionate about music and has composed music since her high school days. She has won many musical competitions in Kerala. She has trained more than hundred students in the Charlotte area. She attributes her achievements and success in music and everything else to her Gurus, Parents & Husband.
